Sound off in 100 characters or less…
Last week, we rolled out a new review feature and, in typical Lendle fashion, our version of reviews comes with a twist.
All book detail pages now include a SOUND OFF tab. Soundbites (reviews) can be up to 100 characters and are posted to book timelines. We’ll also feature a handful of random soundbites on the SOUND OFF tab so that everyone has an equal shot at visibility.
My soundbite for A Game of Thrones:
Death. Murder. Incest. Whores. Imps. Sex. And then in chapter 2…
Why 100 characters? We want soundbites to be clever and fun or, barring that — to the point. We suspect no one reads long-winded reviews and if they do, they read 1 or 2 and then everyone else gets pushed down the line. This way, we can come up with interesting ways of featuring your content beyond book detail pages.
And, as always, if you have Twitter and Facebook integration set up, your soundbites will carry over perfectly.
As an incentive to get the ball rolling, we’ve also dropped in a few new achievements tied to soundbites.
Have fun!
